Cyberspace Dave | IT, Cybersecurity, and Tech Career Guidance

Welcome!

You are in the right place if you like real tech talk, clear answers, and practical guidance without hype or nonsense. Please note that I am working on this website whenever I can and I am adding many features as well as a notification solution. It is simple by design too! Besides, if it is too busy looking the bandwidth bill will skyrocket as this is all out of pocket for this extremely busy website. I like to grow this organically and on my own. I do this for free and get hundreds of requests to help me but I do not have that kind of time to manage an already busy life.

I’m Dave, a lifelong technologist who loves curious people, real laughter, and building things that work. This site exists to share lessons I have learned over decades in programming, IT, cybersecurity, and systems thinking. I’m here to help you grow your skills, and think through tough tech with confidence and clarity.

Here you will find:

  • A searchable knowledge base full of information right out of my brain
  • Practical guides and lessons from over 35 years of experience
  • Stories and insights about technology, careers, and the joy of figuring things out

If you are here to learn, explore, or level up, you are welcome. This space is designed to be useful, straightforward, and a little bit fun. And yes, I wrote these articles. Sure I may have used grammar and spell checkers, but rarely do I use AI for anything other than quick grammar checking. I prefer you experience my voice this way. It is who I am, and I happened to have experience as a technical writer for major companies so please understand my blend of formality but with a twist. Usually some fun insight or my experiences are thrown in. Things AI cannot do is express the decades of struggle that I share so you can learn from me!

I built this site to share what I have learned over decades of working in real world IT, cybersecurity, and systems that actually break under pressure. This is not theory or hype, it is hard earned experience, lessons learned the expensive way, and things I wish someone had told me earlier.

If you want to understand how this knowledge base came to be and what you will find here, start with this article:

Welcome to Dave’s Knowledge Base

Thanks for stopping by.

Stay curious, keep building, and enjoy the journey my friends!

Mahalo!
